transatlantic telecinema

I just got home from Eclair, where they gave me 4 hours in a gorgeous Spirit (top of the line) telecinema machine with a very nice young colorist, all for a much reduced price. So, I've seen my rushes. Almost 80 minutes of film. They are very clean. They look like a real movie. Not a scratched-up grainy overexposed student thing, but very very real. The color is quite lovely and some of the shots are great. Some of the shots seem to lack the magic that I am looking for and that's why I am scared. My biggest fear is it will look professional but be boring.

I was planning on bringing the tapes to california but now I realize where will I find a PAL dvcam deck at sfsu and the colorist said no-way can it got through an xray, so alas, I guess I'll just keep them here in Paris.
Yes, I'm off to san francisco in 11 hours. Have not packed, nor chosen a dress to wear to wedding, nor bought any acceptable shoes, nor cleaned my kitchen, nor made the calls I was going to make....but alas, I will do all that very soon.
Or perhaps best to sleep first....
